Swift Wins Artist of the Year, Becomes First to Win 40 AMAs

Taylor Swift had a night to remember at the 2022 American Music Awards, held on Sunday, November 20th. The singer-songwriter completely dominated the ceremony, winning six awards, including the coveted Artist of the Year award.
Swift now holds the record for the most American Music Awards won by any artist, with 40 total wins. She is also the first woman to win the Artist of the Year award three times.
"This is an award that celebrates all the artists who put out incredible music this year," Swift said in her acceptance speech. "I'm so lucky to be part of this industry, and I'm so grateful to my fans for continuing to support me."
In addition to Artist of the Year, Swift also won awards for:
- Favorite Country Album for Midnights
- Favorite Country Song for "Love Story (Taylor's Version)''
- Favorite Female Artist Country
- Favorite Pop Album for Midnights
Swift's performance of her song "Anti-Hero" was also one of the highlights of the night.
The 2022 American Music Awards were held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California.
