The 2020 Democratic National Convention was held from August 17 to 20 at the Wisconsin Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The convention was primarily virtual, with some in-person speeches and events held at the Wisconsin Center. Joe Biden accepted the Democratic Party's nomination for president on August 20 during the final night of the convention.

Nightly Themes

Each night of the convention had a different theme. The first night, "We the People," featured speakers such as former First Lady Michelle Obama and Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders. The second night, "Leadership Matters," featured speeches from former Vice President Joe Biden and California Senator Kamala Harris. The third night, "Uniting America," featured speakers such as former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. The fourth and final night, "America's Promise," featured speeches from former President Barack Obama and Joe Biden's acceptance speech.

Safety Measures

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the convention was held with strict safety measures in place. All attendees were required to wear masks and undergo temperature checks. The convention was also scaled down in size, with only a limited number of in-person attendees allowed.
