In March, whistleblower John Barnett was found dead during a Boeing court case. A prominent Boeing whistleblower, a former quality manager who raised concerns about manufacturing practices at the company's 787 Dreamliner factory in South Carolina, has been found dead amid depositions against the plane company.
The mother of John Barnett, a former Boeing quality manager-turned-whistleblower who died earlier this month, told CBS News she holds the aircraft manufacturing giant responsible for her son's death.
Barnett had publicly criticized Boeing's manufacturing process, alleging that the company was putting profits ahead of safety and ignoring quality control issues. He had also filed a lawsuit against Boeing, alleging that he was fired in retaliation for speaking out about his concerns.
Barnett's death is being investigated by the Charleston County Sheriff's Office. His family has hired a private investigator to conduct their own investigation.
